Frequently Asked Questions
Which is best for a flat, soggy yard?
Often a French drain feeding a dry well or curb discharge. The French drain collects water from the saturated yard and the dry well or discharge moves it to a place where it can absorb or daylight. On heavy clay, sometimes a more aggressive grading project is added on top.
Do I need a permit for a dry well?
Often yes for sized systems on certain LA lots — particularly when discharge interacts with the city right-of-way or when the system size triggers the local stormwater requirements. We confirm during the site survey and handle any permit submittal in the project scope.
How often do drains need cleaning?
Inspect annually. Clean if flow slows. Most failures happen because gutters and area drains accumulate leaves, sediment, or root intrusion. A 30-minute annual walk-around catches almost everything before it becomes a flooding event.
