Frequently Asked Questions
Does turf fade in LA?
Premium UV-stabilized turf shows minimal fading over 10+ years. Cheap import turf (often unrated for UV) can fade noticeably in 3–5 years under direct LA sun. The product warranty is the best proxy — 15-year UV warranties signal a product engineered for LA conditions.
How often does infill need topping up?
Every 5–8 years depending on traffic, weather, and infill type. Heavy dog use, leaf debris, and storm runoff carry infill out faster. A power-brush and top-up at year five is standard maintenance on premium installs.
What voids the warranty?
Improper base prep is the most common voider. Hot reflective surfaces (low-e windows reflecting concentrated heat onto turf) can melt fibers and aren't covered. Certain harsh chemicals — pool chlorine spills, gasoline — also void warranty.
